GRADE - WISE

KG 1

Project Based Learning (Recycling Drive – Best Out of Waste) will be conducted from May 17th to 21st. Through this activity, students will know the importance of 3R’s – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. They will make new objects from recycled materials. They will make model using different shapes learnt along with parent collaboration. ‘Show and Tell’ of the object made by them will be the culmination of the activity.

Thematic Assembly will be held on May 27th. During this assembly, students will perform on a short skit. It will help them in their physical, social and emotional development.

KG 1 & KG 2

Islamic Week (Spirit of Ramadan) will be conducted on May 4th. Students will be involved in art work such as lantern and cards with the theme ‘Ramadan Kareem’. They will use their creativity and imagination. It aims to instill good values of giving and sharing. It will also help them know the importance of gratitude in our lives.

D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) will be organised during this month (every Thursday). This activity will be an opportunity for students to read books they want and enjoy the pleasure of reading. It will also help to encourage families at home to designate a special time to drop everything and read at home.

KG 2

Bullying Prevention Week will be conducted from May 4th till 7th. The objective is to reduce the number of incidents and impact of violence against students at school, resulting from an improved safe & secure whole school environment. Awareness through stories, videos titled “Keep your Hands to Yourself” and teacher talk will be included.

Mother’s Day will be celebrated on May 10th. Students will make a “Thank You” card to express respect, honor and love towards their mother. It will help them understand the importance and significance of mothers in our life.

Cleanliness Week will be conducted from May 10th to 14th. Students will learn how to keep themselves clean including their surroundings. It will help to imbibe in them the good clean habits which they can carry throughout their lives. It will also keep them physically and mentally healthy leading to a healthy nation. Awareness through videos, teachers talk and hands-on activities will be included.

Thematic Assembly will be held on May 20th. This assembly will help students to enhance their language and communication skills. It will also help them learn about a country – national symbol, culture and greetings.

Grade 1 & 2

Islamic Week (Spirit of Ramadan) will be conducted from May 3rd to 7th. Islamic classes will be based on the importance of the Holy Month of Ramadan. Students will speak/ write/ draw about empathy. They will share video about their understanding on the Holy Month of Ramadan. They will also participate in recitation of Holy Quran. It will help them learn to be more compassionate and empathetic to those who are in need.

Anti-Bullying Week will be conducted from May 3rd to 7th. During this week, students from grade 1 will make poster on anti-bullying while students from grade 2 will express what they understand by bullying and anti-bullying. They will also write a pledge on anti-bullying. It will help them in understanding what bullying and bullied mean. They will also know what they will do when they see bullying or are bullied kids.

Mother’s Day Celebration will be held on May 10th. Through this day, students will express their love for their mother through card, poem and drawing. They will also speak what mother means to them in 3 to 4 sentences and upload their video in google classroom. In art, they will prepare cards for their mother. It will help them in English, reading and value.

Book Character Day will be held from May 10th till 14th. The objective for students is to gain self-confidence to talk about the character that they are representing. They will dress up as their favourite character from the story book. They have an option to make 1-2 minutes video and share it in their google classroom. Students from grade 1 will draw their favourite book character and write few sentences on it.

Best Out of Waste activities will be organized from May 17th to 21st. These activities will be an opportunity for grade 2 students to create futuristic models and for grade 1 students to use basic shape models - rectangle art. All will be out of waste material. It aims to encourage them to come up with some new innovation.

Grade 3

House Inception Ceremony will be held on May 4th. During this ceremony, a PPT on names of houses will be played and their house name will be revealed to them in the first zoom session.

Grades 3 to 5

Bullying Prevention Week will be conducted from May 3rd to 7th. Students will be playing while learning about cyber security. They will be engaged in ‘Interland’ - an adventure-packed online game that makes learning about digital safety and citizenship, interactive and fun. Stories on anti-bullying will also be shared with them.

Islamic Week (Spirit of Ramadan) will be conducted from May 3rd till 7th. During this week, a presentation will be shared with students on Spirit of Ramadan. Islamic students will also be asked to show random acts of kindness using padlet.com or google notes. It will help them understand the Holy Month of Ramadan, five pillars, charity and how they can express gratitude & spirit of giving.

Mother’s Day Celebration will be held on May 10th. This day will be an opportunity for students to make greeting cards for their mother. A short story on Mother’s Day will also be included.

Literary Week will be held from May 10th to 14th. Students from grade 3 will compose a poem and recite it in English/Hindi language for their classmates via recording to be shared on padlet.com. Students from grade 4 & 5 will be given an opportunity to be a book Authors and create a book using the platform storyjumper.com in English language only.

Innovation Week will be conducted from May 17th till 21st. During this week, grade 3 students will be given an opportunity to innovate and make a 'Useful Invention' using recyclable materials, grade 4 students will be using ‘Sketch.IO’ online drawing application to put their futuristic ideas of a school together and grade 5 students will be using ‘Kizoa.com’ online platform for making movies on their topic.

World No Tobacco Day will be celebrated on May 31st. This day aims in spreading awareness on the harmful effects of tobacco and staying safe on it. They will participate in assembly and poster making titled ‘Say No Tobacco’.

Grades 6 to 8

Bullying Prevention Week will be conducted from May 3rd to 7th. The purpose for students is to feel motivated to be nicer and more accepting to their friends. Poster making and Islamic Quiz will also be included.

Student Council Selections will be organised from May 3rd till 20th. This online selection will be an opportunity for students to develop leadership skills.

Mother’s Day Celebration will be held on March 10th. Students will be involved in a poem and a card on digital platform. It will also be an opportunity for them to express their love and gratitude to their mother.

Literary Week will be conducted from May 10th till 14th. The objective for students is to enhance their speaking and writing skills in three languages. Record a story in Arabic, spin a yarn (English/Hindi) and write a letter to your favorite author will be included.

Islamic Quiz will be held on May 21st. This online quiz for students will be a comprehensive learning about the Holy Month of Ramadan, Holy Qur'an and Prophets in a competitive manner.

World No Tobacco Day will be celebrated on May 31st. This day will create awareness among students about the dangers of using tobacco.

Grade 7

Innovation and Enterprise Week will be conducted on May 17th. The purpose is to equip students with the skills necessary to use technology in education and their personal development. It will help to develop their interest in technology, consider potential new career avenues, learn new skills and be creative.

Grade 9 & 10

National Bullying Prevention Week will be conducted from May 3rd to 7th. Students will be engaged in various activities such as Color Me Flag, Learn to Appreciate Yourself, Be a Buddy- Not a Bully Challenge, Documentary Making, and more. It will help them build awareness on the relevant theme. It also aims to encourage them to fight the social evil of bullying through building self-awareness and equipping their peers.

Student Council Selections will be organized from May 3rd to 20th. These selections will involve various rounds consisting of select panel members. The objective is to equip students with sound skills of leadership and initiative.

Online Voting will be conducted during this month. Students will cast their vote through google forms for the grade 10 candidates running for the main positions. It will be an opportunity for their voice and choice.

Islamic Quiz will be conducted on May 5th for round 1 (Holy Month of Ramadan), on May 12th for round 2 (Qur’an, the Holy Book) and on May 12th for round 3 (Prophets and Non-Prophetic characters in the Holy Qur’an) for Islamic students. The purpose is to deepen the knowledge and understanding of the relevant topics.

Ramadan Awareness will be organized from May 5th till 21st. The objective is to spread awareness about the Holy Month of Ramadan and its importance. Students will have an opportunity to pose questions related to the Holy Month of Ramadan through google forms. It will be answered by Islamic teachers.

Mother’s Day Celebration will be held on May 10th. This day aims to instill in the students the value of love and gratitude for their mother and her selflessness. It will be an opportunity for them to express gratitude for mothers around the world through creative artwork, write-ups, slogans and more.

Literary Week will be conducted from May 10th to 14th. During this week, students will be engaged in various activities such as Debate, Just-a- Minute, Battle of the Books, Photo Caption Challenge and more. It aims to foster love and appreciation for language and literature.

Innovation & Enterprise Week will be conducted from May 17th till 21st. Through this week, students will exhibit their skills of innovation and enterprise. They will be involved in various activities such as Web Designing, Hour of Code, Animation and more.

World No Tobacco Day will be celebrated on May 31st. This day will create awareness among students about the cons of the use of tobacco. Special assembly and talk will be included.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

Well-Being Care Letters will be organised through the entire month of May, 2020 for students, parents and staff. These letters will equip them with concrete tools for them to practice well-being.
