GRADE - WISE

KG 1

Fancy Dress competition was conducted on January 9th, 10th & 11th. The purpose of this competition for students was to blend learning with fun and to develop their confidence. It was also an opportunity to showcase their talents.

Group Recitation competition was conducted on January 17th. During this competition, students recited the poem together in a group with confidence, voice modulation, expression and gestures.

PFG (Term 2) was organised on January 18th. Section supervisor presided the meeting and they discussed the relevant school issues. They also shared views through suggestions and solutions.

SSCS (Term 3) was organised on January 22nd and PTCS (Term 3) was held on January 31st. Through these sessions, class teachers briefed them on the improvement of their wards. Suggestions were also given to bring up students to the required class level.

KG 2

Star Class was awarded to classes ‘D & J’ and Green Class was awarded to classes ‘I & U’ on January 8th. Classes were observed during class hours and break time to check the discipline in the class & corridors. Dustbins were also checked to see that there was wastage of paper and food. It encouraged students to maintain a well – groomed class.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘All About India’ was held on January 15th with mass participation of divisions ‘Q & R’. During this assembly, students presented a short skit about the theme. It created awareness among them about the culture and inculcated the love for the country. Different festivals, landmarks and leaders of India were included.

Handwriting Competition was conducted on January 21st. Students were given a paragraph to copy from the board. They were judge based on their handwriting, punctuation and spacing. It helped them to imbibe the habit of good handwriting and proper spacing.

A Field Trip to Al Twar Park 1 & 3 was organised on January 29th. This educational trip was an opportunity for students to play with other students and learn about the environment. They enjoyed playing at the play area, seen different flower and shared their ideas on how to take care of the environment. It also helped to enhance their social skills and got aware of the beauty of mother nature & how to take care of them.

Grades 1 to 4

FA 3 (Formative Assessments) was conducted from January 10th till 18th. Collected detailed information was used to improve instruction learning. It helped to modify teaching – learning activities and improve student attainment. It also helped students and teachers to analyze the teaching & learning process. It was self-assessment for the knowledge they have gained and retained.

Grade 1 & 2

PFG meeting was held on January 25th. The Headmistress, Supervisors and the Parent Volunteers for the focus group met in school. It promoted interaction between the school and the parents. Significant discussions threw light of the parent’s views on various school policies, procedures, the academics and the other activities in school. They generated the parent’s opinion and got feedback on the curriculum and other policies of the school.

Grade 1 & 2 (Girls)

Thematic Assemblies titled ‘Republic Day’ and ‘Use of Golden Words’ were held on January 23rd & 30th with mass participation of grade 1 divisions ‘B & D’ respectively. During these assemblies, students of grade 1 division ‘B’ presented a skit along with patriotic songs & dances and students from grade 1 division ‘D’ presented a skit & songs on the theme. It was an opportunity to harness talents of various performers, to showcase their skills and to ensure mass participation. It also created awareness among them about the topic and to make them understand the importance of using golden words.

Grade 2 (Girls)

Arabic Read Aloud competition was conducted on January 24th. Class wise, students read Arabic stories loudly. It was a healthy way of developing group reading skills. It was also an excellent opportunity for mass participation and to enhance their Arabic language.

Grade 1 & 2 (Boys)

Thematic Assemblies titled ‘Republic Day’ and ‘Emotional Well Being’ were held on January 23rd & 29th with mass participation of grade 1 divisions ‘U & V’ respectively. These assemblies helped to encourage individual participation of students and to enhance their oral skills by performing a skit in English, speech in Hindi and song in Arabic. It also helped them know why we celebrate Republic day and learn to love your country. A short session on Happiness was also included.

Grade 3 (Girls)

Hindi Recitation was held on January 25th. This competition helped students to enhance their recitation skills and improve their poetry reading skills in Hindi language. It also helped them to overcome their stage fright and develop confidence, fluency & proper speaking skills.

Grade 3 & 4 (Girls)

Thematic Assemblies titled ‘Good Touch & Bad Touch’, ‘Time Management’ and ‘Hard Work & Success’ were conducted on January 22nd, 24th & 31st with mass participations of grade 3 division ‘K’ & grade 4 divisions ‘F & K’ respectively. These assemblies aimed to raise awareness among students on various important topics & happenings in & outside of school and to develop a sense of community & discipline. It was also an opportunity for them to share their ideas & talents with other students.

Grade 3 & 4 (Boys)

Parent Focus Group (PFG) meeting was organised on January 17th. Through this meeting parents, teacher & supervisor discussed the common agendas and various other aspects on school policies, procedure, co-curricular activities and work together for the betterment of the section. It also encouraged association between school and parents by understanding parent’s opinion & gathering their feedback.

Student Council meeting was organised on January 31st. During this meeting, students talked about Awareness – Self Safety (United in Destiny), UAE aims to be the safest place in the world. They also discussed about Health and Personal Hygiene- happiness in being healthy and fit. It helped them know the importance in being laid on awareness, precaution and responsibility.

CLUB

Best Out of Waste campaign was organised on January 24th for grade 3 & 4 Environment Club members. The objective of this campaign for students was to bring out their creative ideas and make beautiful & useful items from waste products. They used the concept of 3R’s (reuse, recycle and reuse) to exhibit their talent.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

Parent Talks on the topics ‘Play Smart’ for KG 1 parents and ‘It’s Me & My Child’s Time’ for KG 2 parents were held on January 19th. Through these talks, KG 1 parents were informed about the importance of Play to achieve various developmental milestones for their wards and KG 2 parents were motivated & tips were given to spend quality time with their ward during the formative years of their wards.

Student Talks on the topic ‘Respect’ was conducted on January 28th & 29th for grade 3 boys & girls respectively. During these talks, students were enlightened about ways in which they can be respectful towards themselves, people and things around them.

Student Talks on the topic ‘Stranger Danger’ was conducted on January 29th & 30th for grade 1 boys & girls respectively. These talks aimed to educate students about their safety while interacting with others.

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

A Workshop for Middle Level School Leaders on the topic ‘Leadership’ was held on January 20th for Supervisors, Headmasters and Headmistress. This workshop aimed at instilling advanced and newer leadership skills.

CPD program on E-Learning – Destination Success was organised on January 24th & 25th. This training helped our teachers to understand the collaborative tool needed. They were also trained in the effective use of the eLearning modules along with the eLearning equipment that is made available in the classroom.

SPORTS

Inter-House Chess Tournaments (Table Tennis & Lawn Tennis skills) were conducted on January 21st & 22nd for grade 3 & 4. These tournaments aimed to provide opportunities for students who are coming in the before / after sports coaching to apply practically the sports skills and strategies that they learned in their coaching classes.

Annual Sports Day was held on January 30th & 31st for grade 1 & 2 girls and boys respectively. Through this day, students showcased their athletic skills. They participated in various athletics events where they were able to apply the skills they have learned in their respective games classes. Parents witnessed the performance of their wards and participated also in the event. Winners were acknowledged by giving of medals and certificates at the end of the tournament.
