Charity Drive was conducted from June 3rd till 13th. Students happily contributed towards this noble cause of distributing food kits to the needy at the Labour Camp.
Colour Day was held on June 21st. This day was an opportunity for students to speak on the object that match the colour of their dress. It created a great visual impact on them.
Grades 1 & 2
PTCS (Parent Teacher Contact Session) was organised on June 26th for girls and on June 27th for boys. The purpose of this session was to update parents about the performance of their ward at the FA 1 and analyse their progress. They were provided with feedback, suggestions and tips for improving their ward’s performance. They had a heart to heart talk.
Grades 1 to 4
Formative Assessments (FA-1) were conducted from June 3rd to 11th. These exams aimed to collect detailed information that can be used to improve instruction and student learning. It also helped to assess their academic performance, modify teaching & learning activities and improve student attainment.
Grade 1 (Girls)
Environmental Poster Making was held on June 5th. Students made posters related to environment. It helped to make them aware about the importance of environment and the need to preserve it.
Grade 1 & 2 (Girls)
Thematic Assemblies titled ‘The Man who turned the Desert Green – Sheikh Zayed’ and ‘International Yoga Day’ were conducted on June 12th & 19th with mass participation of grade 2 divisions ‘F & G’ respectively. These assemblies were an opportunity to harness talents of various performers and to ensure mass participation. It also created awareness among students about World Environment Day and the benefits of Yoga.
Grade 2 (Girls)
Slogan Writing was conducted on June 5th. Through this activity, students wrote creative slogans related to environment. It helped to encourage their creativity and thinking to write slogan.
Talent Search was held on June 19th. Students performed in various categories such as dance, singing and instrumental & mono acting. It provided a golden opportunity to perform their inherent, hidden & creative talents on stage and overcome their fright. It also helped the budding, young, talented and promising stars of tomorrow to shape up.
English Group Read Aloud competition was conducted June 24th. This competition was a healthy way of developing student’s group reading skills. It provided them an excellent opportunity for mass participation. It also helped to enhance their English language skills.
Grade 1 (Boys)
Hindi Declamation was held on June 4th. Through this competition, students’ strengths of speaking on a given topic were evaluated. They spoke fluently with clarity, correct pronunciation, facial expression, voice modulation and coherently. After short listing from each section they competed with their peers from the other sections.
Grade 1 & 2 (Boys)
Interclass Quiz Competition was conducted on June 25th. This competition was an opportunity to encourage students to know more about the founding father of the UAE, HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nayhan. 2018 will mark 100 years since his birth.
Arabic Good Handwriting competition was held on June 26th. Students learnt that Arabic words are always written from right to left. It also helped them to develop legible handwriting skills and to inculcate the habit of neat & well-formed hand writing. Students who write legibly with good formation and presented the most perfect handwriting were declared as the winners.
Grade 2 (Boys)
Good Handwriting competitions were conducted on June 24th for English and on June 25th for Hindi. These competitions aimed to inculcate the habit of neat and well-formed hand writing. Students who wrote legibly and with correct formation were declared as the winners.
Grade 3 & 4
PTCS was organised on June 26th for girls and on June 27th for boys. Through this session, teachers have discussed the performance of students with their parents. They provided guidelines on how they could support and encourage their wards to be successful learners. It also helped in building successful partnership between parents and teachers in developing effective communication techniques that meet the student’s need.
Grade 3 (Girls)
English Declamation will be conducted on June 24th. This competition helped students to overcome their stage fright and to develop their confidence, fluency & proper speaking skills. It also helped to encourage them and enhance their oratory skills.
Handicrafts (Best Out of Waste) activity was organised on June 25th. The purpose of this activity was to bring out the creative ideas of the students of what they can make from recycled items. They used recycled material to exhibit their talents.
Social Science Trip to Etihad Museum was organised on June 27th. This educational trip was an opportunity for students to compare and contrast what is important for them which lead to higher critical thinking skills.
Grade 3 & 4 (Girls)
Parent Focus Group was organised on June 6th. Through this meeting parents shared their ideas, views, opinions and suggestions.
Thematic Assembly was conducted on June 21st. World Environment Day was celebrated based on the theme ‘Beat Plastic Pollution’. Environment Club Members performed a skit and facts about the pollution followed by a song based on the topic. Students were also given an opportunity to share their ideas and talents on stage. It helped to make them aware of the importance of 4R’s (Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle).
Math Quiz was held on June 25th for final round. This competition tested students’ accumulation and retention of knowledge in a real situation. It also provided them math enrichment, encouraged them to achieve academic excellence and increase their awareness of the world around them.
English Story Writing competition was conducted on June 25th. This competition helped students to foster a love for creative writing and to improve their language skills. It also encouraged their imaginations and writing skills.
Student Council Meeting was organised on June 28th. The objective of this meeting was to train Student Council Members for the development of their leadership & organizational skills, time management and discipline. It also helped them in gaining self-confidence.
Grade 4 (Girls)
English Debate was conducted on June 24th. During the competition, the debating groups debated for and against the motion. It was an opportunity for them to attain knowledge based on the topic. They were able to put forward their views or arguments in a healthy manner.
Talent Search was held on June 25th. This activity was an opportunity for students to demonstrate their co-curricular skills in dance, instrumental and singing. It helped them to enrich cultural diversity.
Grade 3 & 4 (Boys)
Math Quiz was conducted on June 19th for the first elimination round and on June 24th for the final round. The objective of this competition was to reinforce and improve students speed & accuracy on simple math facts. It also helped to promote healthy competition & interest in math, challenge young minds and enrich their vision.
Creative Writing activity was held on June 20th. Through this activity, students’ talent in writing creatively with originality were encouraged and recognized. It also helped to enhance their creative thoughts and portray their writing skills.
Art Competition with the theme being visions of HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan was conducted on June 28th. This competition helped students to enhance their creative ideas along with their artistic skills.
Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) was conducted on June 7th. Students participated enthusiastically and read a story of their choice with pleasure. They drop everything and read at an allotted time. It was an opportunity to inculcate reading habits among them, enhance their vocabulary, stimulate love of reading and motivate them to read. It also helped to instill and appreciate the importance of reading.
Investiture Ceremony was held on June 13th for grade 3 & 4. Through this grand ceremony, appointed students were invested with their new responsibilities. They were awarded with badges as per their post. It was also an opportunity to groom their personality and to inculcate in them the sense of leadership, teamwork and being responsible.
Movie for a Cause were organised from June 18th to 21st. Students contributed an amount for charity for the less privileged children in our society and they enjoyed a movie. It also helped to instill moral values, enhance listening skills and learn another way to do charity.
Islamic Poster Making competitions were conducted on June 4th for grade 4 and on June 6th for grade 3. The objective of these interclass competitions for students was to develop an interest and understanding of their knowledge about their religion. It was also an opportunity for them to exhibit their creativity skills and abilities.
Poster Making (Islamic Studies) was organised on June 10th for grade 2. During this activity, Islamic students used mathematical shapes to draw a Masjid. It helped to enhance their knowledge of mathematical shapes and use creativity to display the importance of Masjid.
Arabic Declamation was conducted on June 12th for grade 4 girls. This competition helped students to overcome their stage fright and develop their confidence, fluency & proper speaking skills. It also helped to encourage and enhance their Arabic speaking skills.
Farm Visits to Al Rawabi Dairy Farm were organised on June 25th for grade 3 & 4 boys’ Environment Club members and on June 26th for girls. Students were very excited to go on a trip with their friends. They learnt about the hygienic processes for milking, storage and its transportation. It was a unique experience for them and a great learning platform for a better understanding of the organic farming process.
A Student Talk on the topic ‘Be Smart’ was conducted on June 11th for grade 1 girls. Through this talk, students learnt about how to study, think and play smartly & effectively.
A Comprehensive Multisensory Phonics Training Programme for selected primary school teachers in the subject of English was conducted on June 22nd & 23rd. The topics dealt were how to generate a successful foundation in the development of student’s reading & writing skills with amazing results and how to increase student’s reading & writing skill equal to or above their chronological age, including mainstream children, slow learners, children with learning difficulties and those with a non-English background.
The Indian Consulate once again invited our students to perform in the 4th International Yoga Day Celebration on June 21st held at Zabeel Park. Grades 2 to 4 girls put up a Yoga Dance performance. The Indian Consulate awarded certificates to them as an appreciation. Their performance was also highly appreciated by the audience and was flashed in Gulf News website.
International Yoga Day was celebrated on June 21st. Students from KG 1 to Grade 4 participated in the Yoga exercises. It aimed to develop further their focus and fitness level. It also helped to instill among them the love for Yoga.
