Thematic Assembly titled ‘We are One’ was held on November 3rd. During this assembly, students of divisions ‘A & H’ performed a skit. It helped them understand the importance of being one and not to discriminate anyone.
PTCS (Parent Teacher Contact Session) was held on November 16th. Teachers got an opportunity to discuss with parents the performance of their ward. Support and how to motivate students to be successful learners were understood by both teachers and parents.
A visit to Dubai Under Water Zoo (Dubai Mall) was organised from November 17th to 26th. This educational trip was an opportunity for students to know more about various sea animals.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Why Not Share’ was conducted on November 24th with mass participation of divisions ‘B & U’. This assembly created awareness among students about the importance of sharing their things with others and also to care for them.
Grade 1 & 2 (Girls)
Arabic Recitation was organised on November 4th for grade 1. Students recited a poem in Arabic on the given topic with correct pronunciation and expressions. This recitation was a healthy way of developing their skills. It provided an excellent opportunity for mass participation and it also enhanced their Arabic language skills.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘UAE Heritage and Culture’ was conducted on November 4th with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘F’. During this assembly, students presented a skit and a song in English, Hindi and Arabic languages.
Arabic Read Aloud competition was organised on November 18th for grade 2. This competition helped students to develop their reading skills in Arabic.
Hindi Declamation was held on November 24th for grade 2. Through this competition, students promoted the use of intonation and facial & vocal expression. It also helped them to develop their speaking and communication skills.
Grade 1 & 2 (Boys)
FA 2 was organised on November 2nd for ‘Maths’ subject and on November 9th for ‘Science’ subject. This assessment helped teachers to understand the academic performance of their taught.
Thematic Assemblies titled ‘Leaders of UAE’ was conducted on November 4th with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘S’, on November 11th titled ‘Children’s Day’ with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘U’ and on November 18th titled ‘Unity and Strength’ with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘L’. These assemblies helped students to understand the significance of the themes. They enacted a skit and stimulated the senses of the audience by speeches and songs. It also provided variation using three languages and enhanced their speaking skill.
English, Hindi & Arabic Good Handwriting competitions were held on November 3rd, 4th & 5th respectively. Students presented their most perfect handwriting. They were evaluated on the basis of legibility, neatness and formation of letters. It encouraged them to improve their calligraphy and develop legible handwriting skills.
Health Talks were held on November 23rd, 24th, 25th & 27th for grade 2.
Grade 3 & 4
English Recitation competitions were held on November 6th for 3 girls and on November 26th for boys. Students recited poems with expression, voice modulation and intonation. This competition helped them develop an interest and understanding of English poetry. It also enhanced their recitation skills and fluency.
Arabic Group Read Aloud (Inter Class) competitions were conducted on November 12th for grade 4 girls and on November 16th for boys. The objective of these competitions was to inculcate good reading habits among students. All the classes read aloud their stories with proper expression, voice modulation, pronunciation and intonation. It helped them improve their speaking and reading skills. It also enhanced their fluency and confidence in the language.
PTCS (Parent Teacher Contact Session) was organised on November 27th. During this session, teachers and parents shared with each other the strong areas of learning of their students and how to be consistent learners throughout the academic session. Support and how to motivate students to be successful learners were discussed. A charity drive was also conducted and all the proceeds were donated for the Chairman’s Endowment Fund.
Grade 3 & 4 (Girls)
Thematic Assemblies titled ‘Independence and Interdependence’ was conducted on November 5th with mass participation of grade 4 division ‘F’, on November 12th titled ‘Time Management’ with mass participation of grade 4 division ‘G’ and on November 19th titled ‘Children’s Day & My Contribution to Society’ with mass participation of grade 4 divisions ‘H & I’. These assemblies created awareness among students about the themes using three languages.
Day Camp was conducted on November 29th for grade 3. At ‘Al Ain Zoo’ students took a train tour of the wild life area. They were also taken to ‘Al Mubazzarah’ and appreciated the delicious lunch with their friends and teachers. They enjoyed the refreshing and energizing natural outdoor environment.
Grade 3 & 4 (Boys)
Thematic Assemblies titled ‘How to Show Gratitude’ was held on November 5th with mass participation of grade 3 division ‘P’, on November 12th titled ‘Independence and Interdependence’ with mass participation of grade 3 division ‘Q’ and on November 19th titled ‘Time Management’ with mass participation of grade 3 division ‘R’. These assemblies helped students to overcome stage fear and develop confidence.
English Declamation competition was conducted on November 5th for grade 3. Through this competition, students developed their oratory skills. It also helped them to make language learning an activity based subject.
Arabic Good Handwriting competition was organised on November 23rd for grade 3. This competition helped students to develop their good handwriting skills.
Student Council meeting with agenda titled ‘Inculcating Respectful Behaviour’ was conducted on November 23rd. The purpose of this meeting was to foster and inculcate leadership qualities among students. It also moulded them to become responsible individuals by working as a cohesive team.
International Benchmark Test (IBT) was held on November 24th, 25th & 26th in the key subjects of English, Math and Science. This test enabled the students to identify their strengths and weaknesses in key subjects.
Children’s Day was held on November 13th. During this day, students remembered and honored our first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. They also understood the reasons why do we celebrate this day. Bag filled with items, interclass & intra class drawing & coloring competition, animal puppet show and face painting were included.
UAE National Day was held on November 30th. This day was an opportunity for students to commemorate the historic day on which the UAE Federation was born. It also created awareness among them about the various traditions, values and culture of UAE. They showed respect, love and patriotism for the country we live in and its culture. They also presented a program with lot of enthusiasm.
Our school hosted the Readethon (Group Read Aloud Competition) on November 20th. Students from various other schools all across Dubai and Sharjah took part. The objective of this competition for students was to spread the importance of reading, foster goodwill and harmony, inculcate the habit for reading and promote the spirit of healthy competition. Story was read aloud by the group of eight students. It helped them to develop their proficiency in reading, enhance self-confidence and improve language skills. They also learnt voice modulation and facial expression appropriate to the characters and situations, clear speech and correct diction & intonation.
A Parent Talk was conducted on November 7th for parents of grade 1 to 4 on the topic ‘Managing Kids Behaviour’.
Student Talks on the topic ‘Improving Memory’ was conducted on November 9th & 11th for grade 4.
CPD program on E-Learning was organised on November 1st, 8th, 15th & 22nd. This training helped us to determine the level and effectiveness of some of our teacher in using ‘Interactive White Boards’.
Basic Leadership Course was held on November 11th, 12th, 25th & 26 for our staff at Canadian University Dubai.
Microsoft Office Level 1 training was conducted from November 16th till 30th. Newly appointed staffs were trained at Canadian University Dubai for three days which includes Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Football Skills competition was organised on November 25th for grade 1 & 2. Through this competition, students were able to practically apply the skills that they have learned in their games period. It also strengthened their self-confidence, accuracy, character and sportsmanship. Medals were awarded to the students whose performance was found to be exemplary.
