Food Fest was held on October 29th & 30th. Through this fest, students were encouraged to a healthy eating practice. Parents willingly contributed by sending home cooked for their wards. Some of the parents also volunteered to serve food for students.
Star Class & Green Class was conducted on October 1st. Classes were observed to see the behavior, punctuality and discipline of students. Categories were also based on saving electricity, food, water, papers and more to clean the environment. Divisions ‘A & O’ won the star class of the month and divisions ‘E & R’ won the green class of the month.
Best Out of Waste activity was organised on October 28th & 29th. During this activity, students were dressed in costumes made out of waste materials. They performed class wise on stage and certificates were issued.
Grade 1 & 2 (Girls)
Thematic Assemblies titled ‘International Day of Girl Child’ was held on October 9th with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘D’ and on October 21st titled ‘Believe in Yourself’ with mass participation of grade 2 division ‘A’. During these assemblies, students performed a skit, song and dance on English, Hindi and Arabic languages. It helped them enhance their confidence and public speaking skills.
Grade 1 & 2 (Boys)
Thematic Assemblies titled ‘World Food Day’ was conducted on October 14th with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘T’ and on 21st titled ‘Celebration’ with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘R’. Through these assemblies, students showcased their talents in speech, dance, skit, songs or poems with their peers. They also used ICT tools to capture and stimulate the interest of the audience. It was an opportunity for them to learn and share their knowledge about the topics with other students. It also helped them enhance their oral skills in English, Arabic and Hindi languages.
Grade 1 to 4
Gandhi Jayanti Celebration was held on October 2nd for boys. Through this celebration, students remembered the various sacrifices made by father of India ‘Mahatma Gandhi’. Some of students held placards in their hands with the principles of ‘Bapu’ mentioned to them.
Thematic Assemblies titled ‘International Day of Non-Violence’ was conducted on October 7th with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘O’ and on October 15th with mass participation of grade 4 division ‘B’. These assemblies were an opportunity for students to showcase their talents in speech, dance, skit, songs or poems in English, Hindi and Arabic languages. It helped them overcome stage fear and develop confidence. It also made them aware about the topic and the virtue of Mahatma Gandhi.
FA 2 was organised on October 8th in ‘English’ subject for boys. This assessment helped teachers & students to assess their progress in teaching & learning academically.
English Declamation was organised on October 13th for grade 2 girls and on October 30th for grade 3 girls. This competition helped students to enhance speaking skills, develop their confidence, overcome stage fright and make them fluent with their conversation. It was also an opportunity for them to use English language in real life situations.
Grade 3 & 4
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Good Touch and Bad Touch’ was held on October 1st. During this assembly, the whole class of grade 3 division ‘L’ and grade 4 division ‘A’ participated and shared their ideas about the topics in three languages. It helped them differentiate between various types of touches and respond accordingly. It also helped them overcome stage fear and develop confidence.
Grade 3 & 4 (Girls)
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Honesty is the Best Policy’ was held on October 22nd. Through this assembly, students were made aware that being truthful makes life easier. They presented the topic in English, Hindi and Arabic languages.
Grade 3 & 4 (Boys)
Student Council meeting with agenda titled ‘School Hierarchy’ was organised on October 9th and on October 16th with agenda titled ‘Conservation of Environment – Preventing Air Pollution’. This meeting helped the Student Council members to work together as a cohesive team.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Importance of Indian Independence, Teacher’s Day, and Honesty’ was held on October 15th with mass participation of grade 4 division ‘U’ and grade 3 division ‘N’. This assembly helped students to understand the importance of these special days in the context of history of India.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Celebrations – Festivals’ was conducted on October 22nd. During this assembly, students of grade 4 division ‘V’ made the audience aware about the various international festivals like lantern festival, tomatina festival and more. It also helped them overcome stage fear and develop confidence.
Diwali Celebrations was held on October 22nd. Through this celebration, students understood the importance of ‘Festival of Lights’ and foster respect on it.
Student Talks on the topic ‘Developing Learning Skills’ was conducted on October 12th & 15th for grade 1 girls and boys.
A Parent Talk on the topics ‘Strategies in Teaching Numeracy’ and ‘Play Skills: How Children Learn Through Play’ was conducted on October 31st for grade 1 to 4 parents whose wards are receiving Learning Support. During this talk, parents acquired strategies and useful tips in teaching Addition, Subtraction & Multiplication at home. They also recognized the importance of play through which skills could be developed in order to make learning possible with fun.
CPD program on E-Learning was organised on October 2nd & 8th. This training helped us to determine the level and effectiveness of some of our teacher in using ‘Interactive White Boards’.
Inter-House Badminton competition was held on October 21st for grade 3 & 4. Through this competition, students were able to practically apply the skills that they have learned in their games period. It also strengthened their self-confidence, camaraderie and sportsmanship. Winners received medals.
