Thematic Assembly was held on October 3rd for divisions ‘A to K’. During this assembly, students had the chance of reciting a poem about good manners and right conduct. They were really delighted as they sing and dance altogether to songs that encourage positive behavior & good manners.
Thematic Assembly was held on October 6th for divisions ‘L to W’. During this assembly, students sang Arabic songs and some students were dressed up in UAE national dress / Emarati traditional clothing. They also recited short lines about UAE.
Star Classes and Green Classes were awarded on October 6th. Classes were observed on how disciplined they are and how they keep their surroundings clean. Students were motivated to be well disciplined and behave properly because they perceive that at the end they will be positively rewarded.
Thematic Assembly was conducted on October 7th. During this assembly, divisions ‘I & J’ presented a short skit and songs about the life & teaching of Mahatma Gandhi (truth, peace & tolerance) and his contribution to India’s history. It created awareness among students on the teaching and character of Mahatma Gandhi.
Best Out of Waste was organised from October 29th till 31st. Through used newspapers, plastic bottles, waste bags, plastic drinking straws and every waste materials, students showed their artistic design costumes. They confidently presented their creative designs and fabulous costume made of waste materials during the three days ‘fancy dress competition’. Parade to showcase their wonderful and unique dresses was included. They were judged according to the different criteria. It created awareness and love for the environment. Creativity and resourcefulness was also endowed.

Nasheed Competition was conducted on October 30th. During this competition, students recited Islamic songs. It helped to encourage participation among them. It also aimed to enhance their knowledge of Islam.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘International Day of Non-Violence in the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi’ was held on October 1st with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘C’. During this assembly, students recited a poem and gave speech on Gandhiji. They presented a skit in English, Hindi & Arabic to show tolerance and compassion. They also show how to do things with peace and harmony without being violent. It helped them learn about the Non-Violence and its importance in daily life.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘World Food Day’ was held on October 8th with mass participation of 1 division ‘D’. Students performed a skit on the topic in English Hindi and Arabic languages. They also took pledge for reducing the food wastage. It helped them know about the importance of food and encourage them to learn about reducing food wastage.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Festivals of the World (Tolerance and Brotherhood)’ was held on October 15th with mass participation of grade 2 division ‘F’. This assembly helped to inculcate in students about tolerance and brotherhood. They dressed in red, green, white and black and performed a skit on the importance of tolerance and brotherhood in English, Hindi & Arabic languages.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Celebration of Diwali’ was held on October 22nd with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘E’. During this assembly, students performed a skit on celebration of Diwali and its effects on Environment in English Hindi & Arabic languages. It was an opportunity for them to know about the topic. Awareness on the importance of environment was also included. It helped to motivate and enhance their duties towards the Environment and its safety.
Grade 2 (Girls)
Hindi Declamation was conducted on October 30th. This competition aimed to encourage, motivate and build bond among students through participation. It also helped them to enhance their skills in Hindi language.
Qirat Competitions were conducted on October 30th & 31st respectively. Girls’ students recited the Surah of the Holy Quran. It created awareness among them about the rules to be followed during recitation of the Holy Quran. Boys’ students learnt to recite Islamic verses fluently. It was an opportunity to encourage participation and to develop their memorization & recitation skills.

Science Field Trip scheduled on October 28th & 29th and Nasheed Competition on October 28th were postponed to a later date (date yet to be confirmed) due to other ongoing major school events.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle’ was held on October 1st. This assembly helped to instill the value of preserving bounties of nature by practicing the 4 R’s. Students learnt to develop habits of conserving natural resources in their day to day life. They also took responsibility to achieve green environment goals.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘International Day of Non-Violence - in the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi’ was held on October 8th. This assembly aimed to develop awareness among students on the importance of living in a peaceful global society. It was also an opportunity to appreciate the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi to the world and adopt ways & means to be tolerant. They learnt to be more tolerant and accepting towards adverse situations in everyday life.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘World Food Day - reducing food wastage’ was held on October 15th. Through this assembly, students recognized the significance of agriculture & farming and appreciate the work of farmers. It also helped them imbibe the value of empathy for the underprivileged and develop a sense of gratitude to the Almighty God for the food on their table every day. They learnt not to waste food and felt motivated to practice kindness & charity to the needy.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Cyber Bullying’ was held on October 22nd. This assembly helped students to develop awareness on the pros and cons of using technology. They identified the features which depict bullying online. It helped them learn to be vigilant while using technology and report any case of cyber bullying.
Thematic Assembly titled ‘Being Kind and Compassionate towards others’ was held on October 29th. Students learnt to be kind to others and be of continuous help to those around them. It also helped to instill a sense of empathy for fellow human beings and encourage the spirit of giving.
Grade 2 (Boys)
Health Education was conducted from October 20th to 24th. The objective for students was to develop awareness on health related issues and recognize ways & means to maintain good physical & emotional health. They learnt to form healthy habits of eating right and chalked out a plan for a balanced diet. They also learnt to include exercise and yoga in their daily routine.
Qira’t Competition was conducted on October 29th.The purpose was to build and strengthen the relationship between Tahfeezul Qur'an & Tajweed. It was also an opportunity for students to appreciate the recitation of the Holy Qur'an that appeals to both the human mind and soul.
Grade 3 (Girls)
Hindi Creative Writing competition was conducted on October 3rd. This competition helped students to foster a love for creative writing and to improve their Hindi language skills. It also encouraged their imaginations and writing skills.
English Read Aloud competition was conducted on October 29th. This competition helped students to overcome stage fright and develop their confidence, fluency & proper speaking skills in English. It also aimed to encourage them and enhance their oratory skills.
Talent Search was organised on October 30th. The objective was to give opportunity for students to demonstrate their co-curricular skills in dance, instrumental and singing. It helped them showcase their talent and to enrich cultural diversity.
Grade 3 & 4 (Girls)
Thematic Assemblies titled ‘International Day of Non Violence’ and ‘Festivals of the World’ were held on October 2nd & 9th with mass participation of grade 3 divisions ‘A & E’ respectively. Students were given an opportunity to share their ideas and talents on stage. They were very enthusiastic and spoke with confidence. They presented their topics in English, Hindi and Arabic languages.
Thematic Assemblies titled ‘The Icon of Tolerance - our mother’, ‘UAE Vision - united in ambition & determination’ and ‘Being considerate and compassionate towards others’ were held on October 16th, 23rd & 30th with mass participation of grade 3 divisions ‘G, H & K’ and grade 4 division ‘I’ respectively. These assemblies were an opportunity for students to share their ideas and talents on stage in English, Hindi and Arabic languages. They were very enthusiastic and spoke with confidence.
Student Council meeting was organised on October 30th. The objective of this meeting for Student Council members was to prepare them to be ready to face the world inculcating leadership values in them, by being more independent in their thoughts and actions. It also helped for the development of their time management and discipline.
Grade 3 & 4 (Boys)
Thematic Assemblies titled ‘International Day of Non Violence - in the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi’ and ‘World Food Day - Reducing Food Wastage’ were held on October 2nd & 9th with mass participation of grade 3 & 4 division ‘N’ respectively. During these assemblies, students presented their topics in English, Hindi and Arabic languages. It helped to develop their public speaking skills.
Thematic Assemblies titled ‘Cyber Bullying’ and ‘Lets Unlock the 4R’s in our daily lives (Rethink, Reduce, Reuse & Recycle) were held on October 16th & 23rd with mass participation of grade 3 division ‘L’ and grade 4 division ‘O’ respectively. These assemblies helped to encourage individual participation of students, make them aware about the topics, enhance their oral skills and perform with their peers to learn & share their knowledge. They also learnt how to keep calm and report cyber bullying.
Student Council meeting was organised on October 30th. Student Council members met & discussed about Islamic values at school, various aspects learnt while being in UAE, 5 main pillars of tolerance and how we can inculcate it in school. It aimed at creating awareness about UAE culture and Islam focusing on Zakat. It also helped to develop their leadership skills, time management and discipline. Activate the role of promoting values of tolerance in the school and Me & My UAE was also the agenda. Poster making on the year of tolerance and integration of ICT & technology were included.
Food Bank was organised from October 13th to 19th for KG1 to Grade 4 respectively. This program acts as food storage and distribution depots to hunger relief charities. It aimed to imbibe values of charity & compassion towards the less privileged, indulge in the spirit of giving, extend their help and simple act of kindness & generosity and create awareness & encourage the power of sharing & giving. Students were also made aware about the importance of food and avoid its wastage. They brought different grocery items, goods and non-perishable packed food for charities. They distributed to the people in the labour camps through a nonprofit organization and Chachas & Didis of our school.
Civil Defence Fire Drill was conducted on October 24th. Through this drill, students were taught about the safety measures to be taken in case of fire. They were trained to adopt methods to follow in case of fire and facilitated to practice safe & orderly evacuation. It helped them understand on how to take precautionary measures during a fire or any similar emergency. It also created mass awareness on fire safety.
Paper Bag Designing & Distribution by Environment Club students from grade 3 & 4 was organised on October 2nd. The purpose was to create awareness among students of the importance of 3R’s (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) and to promote the environmental theme to reduce the plastic usage to the maximum possible. They learned and created their own paper bags using newspaper, best out of waste and distributed it to the various departments in school.
Lumielabs Launch Event was conducted on October 7th at Dusit Thani Hotel, Dubai for selected leaders of Counselling and Career Services. During this event, importance of video within classroom and how video can be influenced in your classrooms to engage learners were discussed. Digital story telling tool that will benefit the classroom was also included.
CPD Program on E-Learning- “Use of Interactive White Boards” was held from October 21st to 24th. This training helped to determine the level and effectiveness of teachers in using the interactive white boards.
Dubai Fitness Challenge “30x30” was conducted from October 18th onwards. This challenge is an initiative from HH Sheikh Hamdan. The program is on its year 3 and it aims to promote further fitness to different schools in UAE. Different fitness activities were initiated and facilitated. Students, teachers, parents and rest of the school staff participated actively.
Our team from grade 3 & 4 participated in the CBSE (UAE) Cluster Swimming Championship on October 27th & 28th at New Millennium School, Dubai.
Inter-Class Basketball Skills competition planned on October 30th for grade 1 & 2 was postponed to November, 2019 due to Diwali Holiday and Examination (FA2).
