GRADE - WISE

KG 1

Emergency Evacuation drill was conducted on September 7th. Through this drill, students learnt about safety measures in case of an emergency.

A visit to the Dolphinarium was organised on September 11th. This educational visit was an opportunity for students to observe and have first-hand experience of what they have learnt at school. They enjoyed it and improved their social & language skills.

Food Fest was held on September 12th. During this fest, students had a choice of selecting food. They were made aware of healthy food and importance of a balance diet.

Grade 1 & 2

Emergency Evacuation drill was conducted on September 10th. This drill helped students understand how to react in case of an emergency in the school.

Bookmark Designing competition was held from September 10th to 14th. The purpose of this competition for students was to create interest in reading books, to incorporate & enhance their artistic skills and to cultivate their habit of reading. They were creative as they brought the material of their choice to decorate.

Hindi Good Handwriting competition was conducted on September 11th. This competition aimed in developing students’ skills in writing neatly and legibly with correct formation of letters.

Grade 1 & 2 (Girls)

Thematic Assembly titled ‘Teachers Day & Hindi Divas’ was held on September 12th with mass participation of grade 2 division ‘K’. During this assembly, students presented a skit on the theme along with some songs and dance. They were provided a platform for mass participation and chance to showcase their skills.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘International Day of Charity’ was held on September 19th with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘A’. Students presented a skit and a song about the topic.

Creative Writing and Picture Composition competitions are postponed due to KHDA inspection purposes.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘National Festivals of India’ was conducted on September 26th with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘C’. Through this assembly, students were provided a platform for mass participation. It was also an opportunity for them to showcase their skills.

Grade 2 (Girls)

Hindi Declamation was conducted on September 12th. This competition helped students to enhance their public speaking skills, build up their confidence and make them fluent in conversation. It was also an opportunity for them to use Hindi in real life situations.

Grade 1 & 2 (Boys)

Good Handwriting Competitions were held on September 7th for Arabic and on September 10th for English. These competitions helped to inculcate among students the habit of neat & well-formed handwriting and to develop their handwriting skills. It also helped them understand that Arabic words are always written from right to left and met the criteria of spacing, formation & legibly with neatness in English.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘Teachers Day’ was conducted on September 12th with mass participation of grade 2 division ‘U’. This assembly was an opportunity to encourage individual participation of students, enhance their oral skills in English, Arabic & Hindi languages and promote the skill of enacting & speaking. They performed with their peers to learn and share their knowledge. Songs, individual speeches and use of ICT materials were included. They also participated in Happiness session where they learnt new ways to keep themselves happy and shared their reason of being happy.

Emergency Evacuation Mock Session was organised on September 17th. Through this session, students were made aware of the exit gates and the assembly point. They also knew that as soon as the emergency alarm rings they have to be calm & compose and move on in this situation. They completed the drill successfully within the time frame, by moving towards the assembly point as soon as they heard the alarm.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘International Day of Non-Violence’ was held on September 19th with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘M’. Through this assembly, students learnt that non-violence makes big thinks work and how our Father of nation Mahatma Gandhi taught us. It was also an opportunity to provide them variation through use of English, Hindi and Arabic languages. Session on Happiness was also included.

Near Miss Training was conducted on September 20th. This training was an opportunity for the Supervisor to brief new teachers of her section about the various school policies. It made all our leaders, teachers and staff to be alert and take the responsibility of reporting any possible unsafe condition with the potential for injury or abuse. The analysis of these reporting will be used to plan for prevention.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘Leaders of UAE’ was held on September 26th with mass participation of grade 1 division ‘L’. During this assembly, students were informed about the leaders and got a brief description on all the seven Emirates & their leaders. They were also engaged in Happiness session where they shared their reason of being happy.

Grade 2 (Boys)

Hindi Declamation was held on September 11th. This competition aimed to meet the grade level standards, express oneself on the given topic and promotes the use of intonation, facial & vocal expression, pronunciation, clarity & fluency. It also helped students to develop their skill of speaking and communicating.

Grade 3 & 4

English Independent Writing was organised on September 6th for grade 3 & 4 boys and on September 7th for grade 3 girls. The objective of this activity for students was to enrich their vocabulary. It also helped them know how to organize and sequence the events. They used their creativity & imagination to write about the given prompts and wrote accordingly to their ability.

Emergency Evacuation drill was conducted on September 11th. This drill created awareness among students and staff on how the building would be evacuated in case of an emergency where the marshals reinforce the safety law. It facilitated them to practice safe and orderly evacuation.

Grade 4

Story Writing competitions were organised on September 6th for boys and on September 7th for girls. These competitions helped students to encourage their imagination & writing skills, enrich their vocabulary and construct meaningful sentences in a paragraph form. It also helped to foster a love for creative writing and to improve their language skills.

Grade 3 & 4 (Girls)

Math Quiz (Inter-House) was held on September 11th. Through this quiz, students’ accumulation and retention of knowledge were tested in a real life situation. It also provided them Maths enrichment, encouraged them to achieve academic excellence and increase their awareness of the world around them.

Thematic Assembly titled ‘Teachers Day’ was conducted on September 13th with mass participation of grade 3 division ‘D’. During this assembly, students were made realize on the importance of the topic. They shared their ideas and talents with other students in English, Hindi and Arabic languages.

Science Exhibition was held on September 21st. Students were exposed to various working and non-working models. They presented & demonstrated their projects and addressed the topic. It helped them understand scientific concepts.

Grade 3 & 4 (Boys)

Talents Day was held on September 7th. This day was an opportunity for students to showcase their talents in dance, vocal and instrumental music.

A Slide Show was conducted on September 13th. During this activity, a PowerPoint presentation was shown to create awareness among students on 5 pillars of Islam and UAE.

Thematic Assemblies titled ‘International Day of Charity’, ‘5 Pillars of Islam (Zakat)’ and ‘International Day of Peace’ were held on September 13th & 19th with mass participations of grade 4 division ‘T & U’ respectively. Students presented their topics in English, Hindi and Arabic languages.

Math Quiz was conducted on September 13th for final round. This quiz helped to promote interest in Math, challenge young minds and enrich students’ vision.

Student Council meeting was organised on September 14th. The purpose of this meeting was to create awareness about UAE culture & Islam focusing on Zakat and celebrating international day of Charity. It focuses on promoting a high level of cultural understanding and global awareness.

English Street Play was held on September 28th. This play helped in generating public awareness. It also helped in instilling moral values among students.

Fitsinpiration Walk was conducted on September 28th. During this activity, Food Inspectors and Fit Squad talked about the importance of fitness and well-being. It helped to encourage students to indulge in fitness activities.

Grade 4 (Boys)

Techvaganza competition was held on September 19th. This competition helped to develop animation skills among students.

PROGRAM - WISE

Badging Ceremonies (Reading Programme) were held from September 10th to 14th for grade 1 & 2 boys and on September 26th for grade 1 & 2 girls. Through these ceremonies, students who excel in reading were awarded with Super Reader Badge. It helped to encourage them to read more, to spread the importance of reading and to inculcate the habit & love for reading.

Emergency Evacuation drill for the entire school was conducted on September 14th. The same drill was conducted in the presence of Dubai Civil Defence officials on September 18th. These drills helped students and staff understand how to react during emergencies in the school. It created mass awareness on safe and orderly evacuation.

SUBJECT - WISE

Islamic Slide Show was organised on September 25th for grade 1 & 2 boys. This activity created Islamic awareness among students. It also helped them understand about living in the U.A.E. and the importance to know about the religion of the country.

CLUB

Drawing Competition with the theme titled ‘Environment – Green Clean Planet Earth’ was held on September 10th for grade 3 & 4 Environmental Club members. This competition aimed to enhance the creativity among students. It was also an opportunity for them to exhibit their drawing and colouring skills with environment perspective. They used their imagination and creativity to give creation to their wonderful ideas about their work. They also spread the message of ‘Go Green’ and exhibited their perspective on environment. Every one contributed their ideas to make it meaningful representation of saving the environment.

COUNSELLING CENTRE

Talks for Teachers on the topic ‘Classroom Intervention Module 1’ were conducted on September 16th & 17th respectively. The objective of these talks was to train the teachers to handle the SEND students effectively. KG 1 & KG 2 teachers learnt how to handle students with language difficulties and lack of attention effectively. They were also educated on how to improve classroom participation. Grades 1 to 4 boys’ teachers learnt effective ways of dealing students with ADD, ADHD, ASD and English language skills. Grades 1 to 4 girls’ teachers learnt effective way of helping students with learning difficulties, English language skills and ASD.

CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Alternative Approach to English teaching was conducted by a resource person from India on September 9th for grades 1 to 4 primary school teachers. Through this training, teachers got strategies for teaching younger students and ways in which an image stimulus can be used in a language class. They were engaged in interesting and simple activities for learning grammar.
